CRIMINAL | UNITY IN THE PROFESSION
Casey is well known for her exceptional client care, earning the trust of those she represents through her empathetic, and passionate approach. In addition to her casework, she is also the President of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors’ Association (LCCSA), where she advocates for the interests and well being of the criminal defence community across London.
Casey provides us with an incredibly important seminar, beginning by urging us to reflect on what we mean by “wellness,” before moving on to consider what is meant by “being intentional.” She then goes on to discuss the presence of vicarious trauma that is often found in the legal profession, which she describes as a collective issue. She goes on to explain the importance of trauma informed practice and the role mindfulness and boundaries can play in mitigating vicarious trauma.
