Ghislaine frequently appears in Magistrates’ Court representing clients from all walks of life. She has a particular interest in acting for vulnerable clients. Ghislaine is able to quickly establish a relationship with clients who are often very distrustful of professionals. Ghislaine is committed to being an anti-racist lawyer and challenges institutional racism in every aspect that she witnesses it during her practice.

In this presentation Ghislaine provides an important update on discrimination against GRT communities within the Criminal Justice System. She begins with a description of the variety of GRT communities known to live in the UK, highlighting statistics that reveal over representation of these groups in the CJS. She then goes on to outline a pre-sentencing report toolkit funded by NGO The Traveller Movement and some practical tips for lawyers working with GRT clients.
