Appendix FM: Unjustifiably Harsh Consequences/Exceptional Circumstances

Speaker:  Priya Solanki
Date: Autumn 2024

Immigration

Priya is an experienced practitioner in all areas of immigration, asylum and nationality law. She often provides training on the intersection between family and immigration law. She is also regularly instructed to provide expert advice on immigration issues in family proceedings.

In this update, Priya guides us through immigration rules regarding people looking to enter or remain in the UK on the basis of their family life with either a British citizen, someone legally settled in the UK, or someone with refugee status or humanitarian protection. She then introduces guidance on exceptional circumstances that involve the interests of children. She ends with some helpful practical tips.
