We were excited to deliver this dynamic and interactive full-day conference for lawyers practising in Immigration and Asylum Law.
With a full spread of the latest must-know legal updates and skills, the event featured a collection of highly useful presentations from leading London lawyers, all at the top of their game with extensive hands-on experience representing clients in Immigration Law.
The conference took place on Day Four of our London CPD Festival Week at the Mary Ward Conference Centre, where Law Friends delivered a full week of unique and energetic training events.
As the legal landscape shifted under the weight of new treaties, policy changes, and evolving case law, staying ahead in immigration and public law remained essential. This Law Friends Society CPD conference brought together a formidable line-up of immigration and human rights barristers from some of the UK’s most respected chambers, including 36 Group, Great James Street, 33 Bedford Row, and Augustus Chambers. Delegates heard directly from professionals who were not only interpreting the law, but actively shaping it in courtrooms across the country.
From Private Life to Public Policy: Expert Guidance for Frontline Practitioners
Throughout the day, delegates received timely updates on expert witness strategy, the implications of the UK–France treaty, private and family life rules, unaccompanied minors, age assessments, and the latest challenges in judicial review and citizenship applications. These were core issues affecting real clients, and the sessions focused on direct, practical insights.
Speakers included Amanda Jones, Raphael Jesurum, Rehana Popal, Shoba Aziz, Sandra Akinbola, and Chengetai Mupara, each delivering clear, practice-based strategies drawn from live case experience.
One Day. A Full-Spectrum Update.
Whether delegates were supporting vulnerable children, challenging refusals, or navigating complex nationality decisions, this conference provided a comprehensive update for the year ahead. It wasn’t just about meeting CPD requirements, it was about sharpening practice, deepening understanding, and connecting with a nationwide community of progressive, humanitarian-minded practitioners.
