We were excited to deliver this dynamic and interactive half-day CPD training conference designed especially for Police Station representatives.

This course kicked off the London CPD Festival Week at the Mary Ward Conference Centre, where Law Friends delivered a full week of unique and energetic conferences and training events, including this focused and practice-driven session for those working in custody settings.

This conference brought together some of the UK’s most respected police station specialists for a direct, hard-hitting morning of updates, accountability strategies, and client-centred defence. From custody suite best practice to institutional racism and youth representation, the programme focused on the legal frontline and practical approaches for those working within it. Steve Kennedy, Solicitor and Founder of Law Friends Society, led the day with an interactive session, alongside Casey Jenkins, President of the LCCSA, widely known for her relentless commitment to Met Police accountability.

Built for Police Station Reps, Duty Solicitors, Freelancers and Police Station Lawyers

Each session was designed to be practical and applicable from the moment delegates entered the custody suite. The programme explored real-world solutions to common custody challenges, strategies for holding police forces institutionally accountable, representation of children in detention, approaches to challenging racism in police settings, and handling protest-related interviews.

With speakers including Caroline Liggins (Youth Justice), Ghislaine Sandoval (Institutional Racism), and Laura O’Brien (Protest Law), delegates learned directly from practitioners setting standards in this space. These were not academic lectures, they were focused briefings for solicitors doing the real work on the ground.

Fast-Paced. Relevant. Powerfully Practical.

This half-day intensive delivered high value in minimal time, making it a strong fit for busy defence solicitors and representatives under pressure to stay compliant and current. The event combined technical insight with a clear awareness of what modern defence work demands. Backed by over 15 years of frontline training delivery, Law Friends Society continued to equip its members not only with CPD points, but with purpose, clarity, and confidence in practice.
