We were excited to deliver this dynamic and interactive full-day conference for lawyers practising in Family Law.

With a full spread of the latest must-know legal updates and skills, the event featured a collection of highly useful presentations from leading London lawyers, all at the top of their game with extensive hands-on experience in Family Law cases.

The conference took place on Day Three of our London CPD Festival Week at the Mary Ward Conference Centre, where Law Friends delivered a full week of unique, energetic, and practice-focused training across a range of legal disciplines.

This full-day CPD event provided a comprehensive update for family lawyers navigating the emotional, legal, and evidential complexities of children proceedings, domestic abuse, and financial remedy disputes. Curated by the Law Friends Society and presented by some of the UK’s most experienced family law barristers, the programme explored the overlapping challenges facing practitioners, from disputed evidence and police disclosure to child homicides and asset dissipation. With expert speakers from 33 Bedford Row, Thomas More Chambers, and Garden Court, each session was designed to sharpen practice and support decision-making in high-stakes environments.

Complex Proceedings. Clear Guidance. Direct From the Experts.

Delegates heard from Milad Shojaei on controlling evidence in child proceedings, Elise Jeremiah (Joint Head of Family) on disclosure duties, and Gayle Bisbey on the often-misunderstood realities of domestic abuse. Jacob Gifford explored the tools available to recover hidden assets, while Sapna Shah (Head of Private Family) examined where financial and child proceedings collide.

The day concluded with Alison Munroe KC, who delivered a powerful session on child homicides in care proceedings: a sobering but essential topic for any practitioner working at the edges of protection, trauma, and justice.
